GL.iNet showed Flint 3 router with Wi-Fi 7 support and OpenWrt firmware

GL.iNet has unveiled a new tri-band router Flint 3 supporting Wi-Fi 7 standard. In addition to its attractive price, the device features a customizable OpenWrt operating system that allows you to optimize its functionality for your specific needs.

The router is based on a Qualcomm processor (presumably IPQ5332) clocked at 1.5 GHz, complemented by 1 GB of DDR4 RAM and 8 GB of on-board eMMC memory. The software used is OpenWrt 23.05 (based on Linux 5.4.213), which offers over 5,000 plug-ins and an ad-blocking feature.

The router features five 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports (four LAN and one WAN), a USB 3.0 port for connecting a modem or smartphone, and four antennas. The router is capable of operating in three frequency bands – 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz, providing maximum data transfer rates of 688, 2882 and 5765 Mbps, respectively. Additionally, the device can be integrated into a mesh network.

The GL.iNet Flint 3 has an estimated retail price of $229 (18 000 rubles). Sales are scheduled to begin in mid-July.
