Lenovo refreshes ThinkBook 14+ and 16+ with new AMD Ryzen AI 7 H 450 processor
Lenovo has unveiled updated versions of its ThinkBook 14+ and ThinkBook 16+ laptops in China, now powered by the latest AMD Gorgon Point APU – the Ryzen AI 7 H 450, featuring 8 cores and 16 threads. Aside from the new processor, the devices retain their premium specs, including support for high-speed external GPUs.
At the heart of these models is the AMD Ryzen AI 7 H 450, which combines 4 high-performance Zen 5 cores with 4 energy-efficient Zen 5c cores. Essentially, it’s a refreshed version of the Ryzen AI 7 350 boasting a 100 MHz higher boost clock and support for faster memory. Leaked Geekbench 6 results suggest this chip outperforms Apple’s M4 in some benchmarks.
There’s no dedicated GPU inside these ThinkBooks – graphics are handled by the integrated Radeon 860M. For heavier workloads, Lenovo has equipped the laptops with a TGX port that enables external GPU connectivity with a bandwidth of around 64 Gbps, roughly on par with OCuLink.

The ThinkBook 14+ sports a 14.5-inch display with a 3072 × 1920 resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, covering 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Its larger sibling, the ThinkBook 16+, features a 3200 × 2000-pixel screen with a faster 165 Hz refresh rate. Both models offer a comprehensive port selection, including two USB4 Type-C ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, TGX for external GPUs, a 3.5mm audio jack, and an SD card slot.
Memory-wise, Lenovo uses dual-channel LPDDR5X-8533 RAM, while storage options include two M.2 2280 slots. Additional highlights include an infrared camera with Windows Hello support, a physical webcam privacy shutter, a quad-speaker audio system, a 99.9 Wh battery, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, and the MagicBay accessory dock.
ThinkBook 14+ and 16+ models equipped with 32GB of RAM and 512GB SSD have already launched in China, retailing for 6,999 yuan (roughly $1,008). There’s no word yet on a global release.
