According to several insiders, Apple is developing a new MacBook that will feature a proprietary chip previously used exclusively in cell phones.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that Apple intends to introduce a budget MacBook with a 13-inch display and Apple’s A18 Pro processor, similar to the one in the iPhone 16 Pro. A distinctive feature of the novelty will be a variety of color options, including pink, yellow, blue and silver. It is assumed that production will begin at the end of this year or early next year. The main task of creating this model is to restore the previous supply of MacBooks, and the planned volume of production is 5-7 million units. In addition, insiders found in the code related to Apple Intelligence, mention of the same laptop under the codename Mac17,1 back in the summer of last year.

Based on the estimated timeline for mass production, the device is expected to hit the market in mid-2026.
