Xiaomi unveiled a washing machine with two drums and HyperOS support

Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Dual-Zone Washer Pro, a premium washer and dryer with smart stuffing and a compact form factor. The device features two drums placed on top of each other, with a total capacity of 10 kg. Sales start May 13 at a price of 5,499 yuan (about $760), with a starting discount to 4,399 yuan ($608).

Two drums – for everyday and delicate washing

The main drum has a capacity for 10 kg of standard laundry, while the top drum is designed for delicate fabrics, underwear or sportswear. Separate water inlets and drains prevent cross-contamination between zones.

The machine uses the Blue Oxygen Care Wash system – active oxygen penetrates deep into fabric fibers to help remove yellowing and stains, and reduces the risk of color transfer in mixed loads. Additionally, steam sterilization is supported, killing 99.99% of bacteria, viruses (including H1N1 and HPV-16) and allergens. Both drums are medically certified as hygienic.

Intelligent detergent dosing and AI wash modes

The appliance is equipped with a three-channel automatic detergent delivery system – for main detergent, conditioner and a separate detergent for delicate garments. Algorithms determine the optimal dosage based on fabric type and load volume. One refill lasts for a month.

The washer runs HyperOS, which enables AI features such as load recognition, environmental analysis and weather-dependent wash modes.

Fast wash, noise reduction and on-screen control

The drive is a direct drive (DD inverter) with a two-level damping system and eccentricity compensation algorithm, which reduces noise and vibration.

Available features include a 12-minute quick wash, high-pressure pet hair removal and Smart Fresh Air, which automatically activates if items are left inside the drum after a cycle is complete.

Control is via a touchscreen display that integrates the functions of both drums. It supports voice control via XiaoAI, OTA updates and smart home integration via AloT.

Additional features: water purifier and smart jump rope

Along with the washing machine, the company also introduced the Mijia Water Purifier S1 (1000G) with a smart touch tap and a filtration rate of 2.78 liters/minute. Another new product is a smart jump rope with a display and weighted weights for just $13.
