CES 2025: SwitchBot K20 Plus Pro – a robot for multiple tasks with customization options

SwitchBot – a company made famous for its innovative devices such as a robotic finger for pushing buttons – has unveiled its latest device that comes close to a real «Rosie the Robot». The CES 2025 showcased the SwitchBot Multitasking Household Robot K20 Plus Pro, a miniature robotic vacuum cleaner that can now perform multiple functions thanks to its new FusionPlatform.

FusionPlatform and its features
.
K20 Plus Pro attaches to the FusionPlatform, a circular device on wheels that connects to various SwitchBot devices. Using three mechanical grippers, the robot moves the platform, which allows it to perform the following tasks:
- Delivering items around the house
- Working as a security camera with pan and tilt functionality via SwitchBot camera
- Air purification with SwitchBot filter-cleaner
- Providing cooling with a fan
The platform can also be used to mount your phone or tablet on a selfie stick, and SwitchBot says it will be compatible with third-party devices. In the future, the company plans to add a mechanical arm to the device to perform even more tasks.

Autonomous operation and control via app
The robot can perform all of these tasks autonomously using automations configured through the SwitchBot app, such as «cleaning the air as it enters a room». Control of the robot via the app or with voice commands via Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple Siri Shortcuts is also available.

To navigate, the robot uses Lidar to create a map, and SwitchBot claims the robot has centimeter accuracy in obstacle avoidance and moves easily over common barriers.
Power ports and customization
The platform features a variety of power ports, including USB-C, allowing any device to be connected, but with a weight limit of up to 18 pounds (about 8 kg). SwitchBot says the FusionPlatform supports custom mounts, 3D printing components, and third-party devices such as speakers, car refrigerators, or UV sterilizers.
.
The company also released a teaser showing a robot equipped with a mechanical arm. While this arm is still in the development stage, such features promise to further enhance the robot’s capabilities.

Additional features and kits
In addition, there are plans to add combination base stations for the K20 Plus Pro, such as with a handheld vacuum cleaner for quick cleaning, creating kits like the K20 Plus Pro Air Flow Kit or K20 Plus Pro Omni Clean Kit. There will also be a full-featured kit available called the SwitchBot K20 Plus Pro Omni Ultimate Kit.
