Mail Mail users made more than 458 million purchases during the November sales period

Mail services analysts have estimated using ML models the number of checks users receive during global sales. For November 2024, Mail Shopping Mail users received more than 460 million checks (an average of about 19 million checks per day), an increase of 13% compared to 2023. These results confirm the growing interest of Russians in online shopping during the global sales period. The data is collected from the side of e-check platforms and is anonymized.
The data is collected from the e-check platforms.
The total amount users spend on shopping this month exceeded 834 billion rubles, and the average check amounted to about 1,800 rubles. This indicates a significant increase in shopping activity, which is largely due to a number of promotions, including Black Friday and the 11.11.11 sale, at online stores and marketplaces.
So far, we’ve seen a significant increase in shopping activity.

The top 3 categories by number of checks were “Supermarkets & Groceries,” “Entertainment & Online Betting,” and “Marketplaces.” In turn, “Marketplaces” is the most popular category. Users aged 25-44 were the most active shoppers, accounting for about 272 million checks.
“Today, there are about twelve ML models in the Purchases section that help users not to lose important information and always keep it at their fingertips, whether it’s order statuses and quick-access tickets or receipts from the supermarket. In addition, Mail will always remind users about existing subscriptions and their renewal. We continue to expand the capabilities of our service to meet the growing needs of our users.”– commented Alexander Surovov, Head of Product at Buy Mail.
