Sony has announced that Hideaki Nishino will become president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) effective April 1, ending an eight-month period of two joint CEOs running the company.

Nishino and Hermen Hulst were previously named joint heads of SIE following the departure of Jim Ryan. Nishino led the company’s platform business, while Hulst, who previously ran PlayStation Studios and Guerrilla Games, became CEO of the game studios division.

Sony has confirmed that Hulst will continue to lead the development and publishing of SIE’s exclusive games, as well as the studios’ business operations. He will be responsible for creating games for a variety of devices, including PlayStation and PC, as well as adapting game franchises for new media through PlayStation Productions.
