Nio Firefly electric car has passed another certification process

Chinese company Nio unveiled its most affordable brand Firefly and its debut model of the same name in late December. Since the announcement, the car has undergone a series of winter tests, and today it was revealed that it’s been certified for sales in China.

The car is now available in China.

Power and Performance

The Firefly electric car is powered by a one 105 kW (140 hp, 142 PS) electric motor that allows it to reach a top speed of 150 km/h. The car uses a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) based battery developed by Sunwoda. Although the exact capacity of the battery has not yet been disclosed, LFP technology is known for its durability and safety.

Firefly has compact dimensions ideal for urban environments:

Price and affordability

The Firefly electric car is already available for pre-order in China with a starting price of 148,800 yuan (approximately 18,300 euros). The model will be fully unveiled in April, and is expected to hit the European market by the end of June.
