OpenAI will launch its own AI browser very soon

According to information obtained by Reuters citing its own sources, OpenAI is preparing to launch its own artificial intelligence-based browser. The agency says the new product is expected to be released within the next few weeks.

The OpenAI browser is expected to make it much easier to find information on the Internet. The application’s interface will be organized in such a way that some of the user’s actions will be performed in a chat room similar to ChatGPT, without the need to access other websites. According to other insiders, the development of the OpenAI browser is based on the open source Chromium code created by Google. The same code underlies browsers used by many major companies, including Microsoft and Opera. The emergence of a new browser could create serious competition for Google, as Chrome is a key part of their business.
It is worth recalling that Chrome allows Google to collect user data for the purposes of targeted advertising. In addition, Google’s search engine is often the default search for many users. The U.S. Department of Justice is seeking to dismantle this monopoly by demanding that Google be separated and Chrome be sold. OpenAI, for its part, has expressed interest in acquiring Chrome if the separation does take place.
