Hollow Knight: Silksong will receive free Sea of Sorrow DLC in 2026

Players who have already purchased Hollow Knight on the original Nintendo Switch (released in 2018) will be able to download the update for Switch 2 for free upon its release in 2026.

In preparation for the launch of the Switch 2 version, the studio is updating all existing versions of the first installment of Hollow Knight, adding new features and fixing bugs. Some of the changes are already available in the Steam version, including support for 21:9 and 16:10 ultra-wide resolutions. The full list of tweaks is published on the game’s Steam page.

Team Cherry has finally revealed sales figures for Hollow Knight: Silksong. In the first three months after release, more than 7 million people bought the game, not including «millions» of players who play it through the Xbox Game Pass service.

In an official statement, the studio thanked the community for their support and interest in the game, noting that such a huge number of players exceeded the developers’ expectations and was a powerful motivation for further expansion.
