Xiaomi is gearing up for a surprise at MWC 2026: full specs for the Xiaomi 17 leak online
The first details about the global launch of the Xiaomi 17 series have leaked online. Insider sources have revealed memory configurations, color options, and estimated pricing for the European market.
- Xiaomi 17 will come with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB storage available in three colors
- Xiaomi 17 Ultra will offer 16GB of RAM and storage options of 512GB or 1TB
- The global version features a 6,330mAh battery, down from the 7,000mAh Chinese version, with European prices starting at €999
While rumors circulate about a fifth Xiaomi 17 model exclusive to China, the company has yet to announce any global variants officially. However, the picture for markets outside China is becoming clearer.
Certification filings have already hinted at an international rollout, and now a fresh batch of leaks sheds light on colors, memory options, pricing, and even battery differences.
Memory configurations and colors
According to a leak shared by insider Sudhanshu Ambhore, Xiaomi plans to launch the Xiaomi 17 series globally starting with the standard Xiaomi 17 and the flagship Xiaomi 17 Ultra.
The standard Xiaomi 17 5G is expected to come in two memory variants: 12GB RAM paired with either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. Color options reportedly include black, blue, and green. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra 5G targets power users with 16GB of RAM and storage choices of 512GB or 1TB, offered in black, white, and green.

Pricing for the European market
As for pricing, a German retailer listing uncovered by Notebookcheck suggests the Xiaomi 17 with 512GB storage could retail for around €1099. However, based on Ambhore’s leak, the base Xiaomi 17 will likely be the 256GB model, which points to a starting price closer to €999.
Trade-offs for global buyers
The retailer listing also reveals some hardware compromises for the global version. While the Chinese Xiaomi 17 is expected to pack a hefty 7,000mAh battery, the international variant reportedly drops to a smaller 6,330mAh cell. Still, that’s a solid 20% bump over the 5,240mAh battery in the previous global model, and it supports 100W fast charging.
Regarding availability, Xiaomi is expected to begin selling the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra globally after MWC 2026 concludes in March. The Mobile World Congress event traditionally serves as the launchpad for international versions of flagship devices from Chinese manufacturers.
The battery capacity difference between the Chinese and global versions likely comes down to differing regulatory requirements and certifications for international markets. Despite the smaller battery, the global Xiaomi 17 will still offer a noticeable boost in battery life compared to its predecessors.
