The Oppo Find X9 Ultra’s cameras will impress: 200MP, two periscopes and an emphasis on mobile shooting

Oppo released the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro last month, but there’s one more unannounced smartphone left in the lineup — the Find X9 Ultra. It will be the company’s main camera flagship, and now the first details about its camera system have emerged.

The Find X9 Ultra is rumored to get a 200MP main camera with a Sony IMX09E sensor. It will be complemented by a periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom based on a Sony IMX09A sensor. In addition to these two modules, the smartphone will have an ultra-wide-angle camera and another periscope telephoto lens for a stronger zoom. The specs of the second periscope are not disclosed, but sources say it will be «very good».

It’s not yet known whether Oppo will use the same 50-megapixel module found in the Find X8 Ultra with 6x optical zoom or opt for a new sensor. The Find X9 Ultra is expected to be unveiled in April — exactly one year after its predecessor’s debut.

Another model — the Find X9s, is being prepared in parallel. It will be positioned as a compact flagship and will be the successor to the Find X8s. The smartphone, according to leaks, will get a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 + chip, a 6.3-inch display with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the screen and a very capacious 7,000 mAh battery. The expected release date for the model is —March.
