Sending a ChatGPT request by accident, forgetting to add important details, or inserting the wrong phrase from a website is a common situation. However, for GPT-5 Pro users or ChatGPT’s deep analysis feature, this can be a problem because responses take longer and the number of queries is limited.

OpenAI now provides the ability to interrupt the chatbot while it is forming an answer to a question. While the AI is answering, you can add new information and adjust its reasoning without having to start over, allowing you to effectively manage the conversation in real time.

When the AI picks up an answer, click the “Refresh” button on the sidebar, make additional clarifications or elaborations, and the answer changes quickly. There’s no need to restart the entire session – ChatGPT can adjust the answer right as the conversation progresses.

For analysts and specialists implementing complex, multi-step queries, this feature saves a lot of time. If you find that key data is out of date or needs to be updated, all you have to do is stop the current process, modify the query, and start over. For example, you could say, “Update 2022 data to 2024 data,” and the text will automatically adjust.

Previously, you had to wait patiently to correct an error in the source data. For a system based on predictive text input, this is an important step towards a more interactive and flexible experience.

Beginning with GPT-4, it was possible to make refinements that were processed in a queue. Now, with continuous feedback, you can make edits without waiting – the AI picks up your corrections as it generates a response.

OpenAI makes ChatGPT better suited for natural dialog. Previous models were notorious for continuing to move forward even if they misinterpreted the question or context. The update doesn’t make the AI conscious, but it does allow it the flexibility to adjust responses, allowing for interaction with the user.
