From AirPods to iPhones, or everything Apple showed at its Sept. 9 presentation

September is a month that anyone who cares about Apple products waits with bated breath. Traditionally, the company shows the world a new iPhone, but it also doesn’t leave out headphones and smartwatches. So let’s take a look at what Apple has shown us that’s really interesting.

AirPods Pro 3

They’re where it all started today. Unlike smartphones or smartwatches, headphones get updated rarely but aptly, pumping up a lot of areas at once and getting cool new features.

Perhaps the most buzzed-about feature, which a couple years ago was out of the realm of fantasy for everyone, is instant translation of the interlocutor’s text. Alas, there’s no Russian language, but even translating into English from, say, Spanish sounds like something cool. Of course, you have to see it all in action, but in words… It sounds great.

AirPods Pro 3 deliver high-quality sound and the world’s best active noise cancellation (ANC) – they eliminate twice as much noise as the previous-generation AirPods Pro, and four times as much as the original AirPods Pro. And that’s thanks to the new H3 processor. In active noise-canceling mode, the headphones will last 8 hours on a single charge; in normal mode, they’ll last up to 10 hours.

The updated design gives AirPods Pro 3 an even more comfortable fit and better in-ear retention during activities like running, high-intensity interval training, yoga and more.

Sales start on September 19. Price is $249.

Apple Watch

Watch Series 11

The new mainline watch offers the most comprehensive set of health-tracking features, longer battery life, even more durable glass and 5G cellular connectivity.

Apple Watch Series 11 is a great health and fitness companion that lets you get notifications for signs of chronic high blood pressure, as well as new and detailed sleep assessments to complement the wide range of health tracking features built into the device.

With a battery that provides up to 24 hours of battery life and Ion-X glass that’s twice as scratch-resistant, the Apple Watch can be worn in all conditions, day or night.

Watch SE 3

Apple Watch SE 3 offers a more advanced set of health features than the previous generation, including sleep quality assessment, retrospective ovulation assessment, sleep apnea alerts and wrist temperature measurement for more detailed data in the Vitals app, as well as a wide range of fitness features to motivate you every day.

The S10 chip powers the always-on display, double-tap and wrist swipe gestures, Siri on the device, and fast charging. The Apple Watch SE 3 also supports 5G cellular connectivity and has stronger protective glass. Overall, the SE 3 got all the same basic features as the main model. At least that’s enough for the average user.

Watch Ultra 3

Apple Watch Ultra 3 is the ultimate watch for sports and adventure, featuring the largest screen of any Apple Watch, a 1Hz constant refresh rate display, 5G cellular support, the most accurate GPS among sports watches, and a battery that provides up to 42 hours of battery life and up to 72 hours in power saver mode.

However, the upgrade over the previous model isn’t a big one. Yes, there are changes, as there are always pumped up different functions that relate to health and sports, but «wow-effect» these updates do not produce. But they are good, as they are now.

iPhone

iPhone 17

If you think nothing has changed globally, … you don…t think so. In general, you could say that about the entire presentation. Nevertheless, there’s still a lot to see here. The main thing that the iPhone 17 has is the cameras. A new Center Stage front-facing camera that takes selfies to the next level; a powerful 48-megapixel Fusion main camera with a 2x optical-quality telephoto lens; and a new 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle Fusion camera that takes more detailed shots of expansive scenes and macro photography.

All of this is powered by the latest-generation A19 chip, which offers better performance. And the base storage capacity will now be 256GB.

iPhone Air

Today, Apple unveiled the all-new iPhone Air, the thinnest professional performance iPhone ever created. The iPhone Air features a revolutionary titanium design that looks sleek yet is lightweight, and an innovative internal architecture that delivers the latest iPhone features. That’s what really wowed us at today’s unveiling.

iPhone Air also features a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion technology at up to 120Hz. The camera here is single and versatile: the Fusion system combines an ultra-wide and 2x telephoto lens with an aperture of f/1.6. The front camera supports Center Stage, a feature borrowed from the iPad and MacBook. Please note that this model supports eSIM only.

As with the base model, it’s the cameras that have changed for the most part (unless you count the fact that a 2TB storage option is now available to you) and, of course, the looks. A one-piece aluminum shell with super-strong glass and a large camera island sets the Pro model apart from other smartphones, making it instantly recognizable. The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are available in three beautiful new colors: navy blue, space orange, and silver.

All modules are 48MP, but each for a different task. There’s an ultra-wide macro lens, a primary module, and an 8x telephoto. The front camera also supports Center Stage.

The 17 Pro goes on sale Sept. It’s priced at $1,099.
