September’s State of Play: Saros, Wolverine, and more

Ghost of Yotei will be released very soon as the top game of the fall for the PS5, but Sony has already started piquing fans’ interest with games coming out in 2026. This time around, the 35-minute presentation focused mostly on Saros, the next game from Housemarque. But State of Play also showed quite a few games. Finally, we learned more about Marvel’s Wolverine.
It all started with Saros…

The star of the September presentation was Saros. We were shown clean gameplay and a detailed tutorial for the game, which looks like a scaled up and improved version of what we had with Returnal. An important new mechanic is the shield, which can absorb projectiles. Adaptive triggers are back in full force to change weapon performance. The spread of bullets looks pretty intimidating, so this tool will be as necessary as the jerk and jump. Second Chance — is a permanent pass option that gives players a second chance after dying each time they run. Saros will be released on March 20, 2026.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will now be released on PS5

On December 8, PlayStation players will be able to take to the skies in the best flight simulator on the market. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will go on sale and get PS VR2 support after launch.
Nioh 3 release date

Koei Tecmo has unveiled a mostly cinematic trailer for Nioh 3 that tells a dramatic story. The game will be released on February 6, 2026. The new installment looks much bigger and more elaborate than the previous ones.

God of War celebrates its anniversary

The God of War universe turns 20 years old this year. And in honor of that, Sony decided to release a custom controller. It doesn’t look very fancy, but it does have a red stripe on it. One look at it and you’ll know which game it’s from, won’t you?
The limited edition will cost $84.99 and pre-orders will open on October 3, 2025.
New details on Wolverine

Insomniac finally showed off the trailer of Wolverine in all his bloody glory in his yellow suit. It’s by far the darkest and bloodiest game the studio has ever made, and judging by the fact that it’s the most gory game ever made. As such, it simply has to be awesome.
Unfortunately, we still have a long wait ahead of us, as the game won’t arrive until fall 2026 at the earliest. A full gameplay demo is scheduled for spring 2026.
What is Battlefield 6’s campaign?

The game will be released very soon, on October 10. Even so, EA decided during State of Play to show off what the campaign is all about in the new installment of the popular game.
Sony Playstation Wireless Speakers

Not a game, of course, but a very interesting moment from the State of Play presentation. Sony announced its fully wireless Pulse Elevate speakers. They’re suitable for PS5 and PC, as well as PlayStation Portal and smartphones. They will be available in two colors, keeping with the classics – white and black. They have a built-in microphone with advanced noise-canceling based on artificial intelligence. So they’re perfect for voice communication.
