The key innovation — built-in satellite communications. Apple Watch Ultra 3 allows:

  • Send SOS messages to emergency services and contacts;
  • share your geo-position every 15 minutes via Find My;
  • text with friends and family even when out of cellular coverage;
  • automatically transmit location data in case of a fall or accident;

To realize this function, engineers have completely redesigned the radio module and antenna: the watch can now communicate with satellites up to 800 miles above ground at speeds of up to 24,000 km/h.
