Samsung will use AMD graphics in its mid-range Exynos chip lineup

According to an insider, Samsung will use AMD graphics in its mid-range Exynos chipsets. The new GPUs will appear in Samsung’s «mid-range» chipsets as early as next year.
The two companies have long worked closely together, as the GPU in the high-end Exynos 2200 is based on AMD’s RDNA2 graphics architecture, which enables technologies such as ray tracing. However, mRDNA is rumored to make its first appearance in the Exynos 1430 and 1480 and will be more focused on image processing.
MRDNA is also rumored to make its first appearance in the Exynos 1430 and 1480 and will be more focused on image processing.

It appears that the company’s goal is to improve machine learning and image processing capabilities in budget devices, and gaming performance likely won’t be at the top of the list.
