Deus Ex composer has posted unreleased music from Mankind Divided for free on Bandcamp

Sasha Dickisian, better known by his pseudonym Sonic Mayhem, co-wrote the soundtrack for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and also wrote music for the System Rift and A Criminal Past add-ons.

The composer has now published a selection of unreleased tracks from the game on his Bandcamp page. The collection is called Fragments of the Machine (Data Archive Vol 1). Everyone can listen to and download the tracks for free.

“In 2015-2016, I wrote a large body of music for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and its DLC,” Dickisian explained. – Only some of my work made it onto the official soundtrack, but a lot of it – including music for cutscenes, trailers, game clubs, as well as drafts, ideas, and demos – was never published. Until today.

With this collection, you get direct access (in a way) to my audio CD. These files are taken from my original drive, with all the arrangement names I gave them at the time. Some tracks are not mixed, mastered or even completed. Some of the tracks are alternate versions or early sketches that didn’t make it into the final game.”

Dikisiyan’s latest work is the soundtrack to sci-fi shooter Metal Eden, due out next week. The composer himself hopes that Deus Ex fans will thank him for his rare selection of music by giving the new game a try.

“After seeing how close people still feel to this universe, I decided to give the community a gift before Metal Eden’s release,” he said. – My only request is that you give Metal Eden (another cyberpunk project set for release on September 2nd) a chance – and maybe buy its soundtrack when it comes out on Bandcamp.”
