Microsoft is bringing Bing artificial intelligence to all browsers

Microsoft launched Bing search, based on artificial intelligence, six months ago. In that time, there have been more than 1 billion chatbots and 750 million images generated by artificial intelligence, Microsoft said. In honor of the six-month anniversary of chatbots and AI-powered tools, the company is expanding access to Bing with artificial intelligence from its own Edge browser to third-party browsers such as Safari and Google Chrome.

Artificial intelligence-powered Bing is now available from its own Edge browser to third-party browsers such as Safari and Google Chrome.

«There are many useful new features now implemented in Bing, and we’re excited to announce that you’ll soon be able to experience a new version of Bing with artificial intelligence in third-party web and mobile browsers» — Microsoft said in a blog post. «You’ll get most of the benefits of Bing, and we’ll continue to optimize to meet your needs across browsers».

In February, Microsoft unveiled Bing search powered by ChatGPT technology, calling its search engine «the second artificial intelligence-powered pilot on the Internet». Search results began to include information from OpenAI, and Bing added a chat box to help you make shopping lists, summarize PDFs, create LinkedIn posts and provide advice on your queries.

The Bing AI chatbot was made available to anyone with a Microsoft account in early May, though it was limited to the Edge browser on computers, phones and tablets and the Bing app. In mid-May, accessibility was expanded, meaning the Bing AI chatbot could be used without a Microsoft account.

After that, a chatbot widget was added for iOS and Android, the Compose feature in the SwiftKey keyboard was augmented with Bing’s AI-powered feature, and artificial intelligence tools for shopping were added, including automatically generated shopping guides, product reviews, and price picking.
