Activision has officially announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

After a string of leaks, Activision has released an official announcement for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, unveiling a trailer and naming a release date for the shooter.

The game is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, a studio that previously worked on 2017’s «WWII» and 2014’s Advanced Warfare.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be a sequel to last year’s Modern Warfare 2. Activision confirmed last month that weapons and kits from last year’s installment will carry over to Modern Warfare 3.

In February, Bloomberg wrote that Activision originally planned to release a major addition to Modern Warfare 2 this year, but the DLC appears to have turned into a full-fledged game.
