iOS 18.4 released with bugs, Apple prepares urgent 18.4.1 patch

The final release of iOS 18.4, which came out on March 31, was far from perfect: users began complaining en masse about bugs and glitches in the system. Now it’s been revealed that Apple is actively testing iOS 18.4.1, an interim version designed to fix bugs in the original update.

After installing iOS 18.4, iPhone owners encountered many unpleasant surprises. Some of the most common complaints include anomalously fast battery drain, which users say is even faster than it was with the previous version 18.3.2. Some devices are displaying the wrong battery level, dropping to 1% before displaying the actual data again.

In addition, the system is experiencing slowdowns, apps not saving in the background, spontaneously closing and even opening unexpectedly. Some iPhones stopped working with CarPlay after the update, even though iOS 18.4 announced support for new features for the car platform. And some complain that the device heats up so much that it literally turns into a mini heater.

  • rapidly decreasing battery life;
  • inability to delete photos;
  • applications start and stop working spontaneously;
  • overheating;
  • slow startup of programs;
  • failures when recording voice memos.

Additionally, problems with the Spotify app have been reported, with streaming frequently freezing on iOS 18.4, and this is no longer an isolated incident.
