Lenovo showed Legion Y700 (2023) on video

While Lenovo has pulled out of the gaming phone market, it continues to work on gaming tablets — next in line is the Lenovo Legion Y700 (2023), a follow-up to the Y700 model released last year. The new model will go on sale July 22.

The Y700 (2023) packs a lot of power thanks to its Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and LPDDR5X RAM (capacity to be specified). That’s a significant step up from the Snapdragon 870 of last year’s model. Battery capacity remains the same —6,550 mAh.

This is a small tablet, even smaller than the original, as the thickness and weight have been reduced to 7.6mm and 348g (down from 7.9mm and 375g).

The CNC-machined chassis houses an 8.8-inch LCD (2.5K resolution) with a 144Hz refresh rate (up from 120Hz). It has 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space and a peak brightness of 500 nits. The display also supports stylus input with 4096 levels of pressure recognition.

The Lenovo Legion Y700 (2023) is interesting in that it has two USB-C ports — one on the long side, one on the short side. Since there are two ports, you can plug a power cable into one of them and, say, a USB hub into the other.”
