OneCourt, a Seattle-based startup that envisions a device to improve the sports experience for blind and visually impaired fans in the United States.

OneCourt— is a laptop-sized tactile mini-field that uses vibrations to convey the location of players and the ball in real time, providing spatial detail often missing from audio broadcasts. It features interchangeable silicone pitch/court contours for different sports and is designed to make live broadcasts more accessible by combining haptic feedback with audio commentary.

To test its technology in stadiums, OneCourt is partnering with the Portland Trail Blazers.

OneCourt plans to make its devices more accessible to sports venues and is already offering its devices to fans in stadiums. The company has partnered with Ticketmaster, and will provide OneCourt devices at the Moda Center for all home games, allowing fans to reserve or request them on demand. In addition, OneCourt plans to expand production and collaborate with more professional sports teams in the future. The design of the device allows it to receive real-time data directly from arenas via Wi-Fi and 5G for easy integration.
