Xiaomi 15 Ultra will get a 200-megapixel 4.3x periscopic camera

Just a couple of months ago, an Ice Universe insider hinted that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra would feature a revolutionary 200-megapixel telephoto camera. Now new leaks from Weibo confirm new details: this camera will only be available in the Ultra variant, while the standard and Pro models will settle for a 50-megapixel 3x camera, according to the latest reports.
A new leak from Weibo confirms that this camera will only be available in the Ultra variant, while the standard and Pro models will settle for a 50-megapixel 3x camera, according to the latest reports.
The Ultra will have a 100-millimeter lens, offering about 4.3x optical zoom with an aperture of f/2.6. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s predecessor featured a 50-megapixel, 120-millimeter periscopic (5x) lens with an aperture of f/2.5.

In addition, the 15 Ultra is expected to feature two telecams — one will be a 200-megapixel module and the other — a 50-megapixel one with 3x zoom, similar to those found in other Xiaomi 15 models. All three models in the series will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, which promises improved imaging capabilities thanks to an updated ISP and NPU.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra is likely to be unveiled at a separate event, following the trend set by the 14 series. This time, however, the gap between releases will be shorter, with the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro expected later this month, and the 15 Ultra — in January rather than February.
