Marvel Rivals — is a superhero shooter. Unlike traditional shooters like Overwatch, this time you’ll be playing in third-person view. Any new multiplayer game raises a lot of questions, especially when it comes to superheroes. The game has a bit of a story, but the main focus will undoubtedly be on pure PvP action. Release Date

Marvel Rivals will be released on December 6, 2024.

Platforms

It has been confirmed that Marvel Rivals will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, but may be announced for other platforms as well.

Trailers

The announcement trailer features gameplay for various Marvel Rivals characters. We get a glimpse of how the gameplay will flow, which characters we can expect, and what unique mechanics and systems will be introduced in the game.

The plot of the game is that Dr. Doom has teamed up with another version of himself from the year 2099 and caused all of the Marvel universes to collide in the Time Stream. Basically, it’s just a vague rationale as to why all these heroes and villains are fighting each other in various iconic Marvel locations.

In addition to the release date, the Official Launch Date trailer for Marvel Rivals showed off two new characters that will appear in the game: the Winter Soldier and Captain America. The rest of the trailer was dedicated to showcasing their unique abilities and capabilities during a match.

Gameplay

This is a 6v6 hero shooter, only with a third-person view. The user interface is very reminiscent of Overwatch, with health and shields at the bottom, and a number of special abilities — on the bottom right. Depending on the character, they will mainly focus on melee attacks or will have ranged attacks. So far, only two modes have been confirmed: Control and Overwatch.

Environmental destruction has been shown, which could make for some interesting map changes. There are also team attacks, in which two characters team up to deliver devastating blows. Pre-order
