Summer 2024 gaming showcase: full schedule of gaming presentations

This summer, we’re living in a new world. The E3 trade show is officially dead — this time for real. This means that there is a void that needs to be filled, as publishers are still eager to showcase their games during large and significant events and exhibitions. For everyone looking forward to the E3 season, there is both good and bad news. Good news? Summer Game Fest will fill that gap, as well as a few additional presentations. Bad news? Keeping track of it all — a huge challenge.

Bad news?

Over the next few months, we’ll see scattered presentations from Xbox, Nintendo, Ubisoft and other game companies. To make your life easier, we’ve gathered them in one place all the presentations we know about so far

IGN Live: June 7-9

Summer Game

While Summer Game Fest is the main event this year, gaming site IGN is looking to create a counter-program to Jeff Quigley’s big show. IGN Live — is a three-day event that will take place June 7-9. It will feature gaming devices so fans can get a live taste of upcoming new products. But there will also be live streaming for those who can’t make it in person. Don’t expect any big announcements at the show, as Keighley will likely keep everyone in the loop, but you might find some interesting indie games here.

Summer Game Fest: June 7

Summer Game

If you only watch one gaming showcase this summer, make sure it’s the Summer Game Fest kickoff stream. It’s essentially a big replacement for E3, as it will feature announcements of games coming out this year and next.

Summer Game Fest is a big one.

Devolver Direct: June 7

Summer Game

As always at Summer Game Fest, Keagley’s stream will be immediately followed by the Day of the Devs showcase. This is an indie event dedicated to smaller projects. It also becomes the main event of the summer season in most years. This is where you’ll find breakout indie hits like Animal Well, so don’t miss it. There’s a good chance it will prove more interesting than Summer Game Fest itself.

At the end of the day, you’ll find a lot more to see than the Summer Game Fest itself.

Devolver Direct: June 7

Summer Game

Indie game publisher Devolver Digital will once again hold a showcase on June 7. It’s the company’s 15th anniversary, so the trick to Devolver Direct 2024 is that it’s the 15th anniversary of Volvie, the company’s weird mascot that Devolver Digital introduced at last year’s Direct. Expect a mix of horror, comedy and actual trailers and announcements of new games during the event.

Here’s what we’re expecting.

Wholesome Direct: June 8

Summer Game

If you’re more into cozy games, you’ll want to check out this year’s Wholesome Direct. There will be over 70 games on display at this year’s event. Among them will be information on Usagi Shima and Minami Lane. Tune in to the live stream on YouTube at 9pm Msk on June 8 for all the news.

Women-Led Games: June 8

Future Games Show: June 8

Summer Game

If you’re looking for a truly unpredictable presentation, the Future Games Show — is the kind of show you’ll have a hard time anticipating. The show has a history of showcasing eclectic games like Blue Prince, but it also occasionally features heavy hitters like Dragon’s Dogma 2. Of everything on this list, it has the most loose concept. Just tune in 24:00 Moscow time on June 8 to see «the future of gaming» for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC. This summer’s show will feature more than 40 games, and the Future Games Show is said to be the most «ambitious» presentation to date, so don’t miss it on YouTube.

Xbox Games Showcase + Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct: June 9

Summer Game

After the controversial decision to shut down several Bethesda studios earlier this month, Xbox will have to work hard to win back the favor of players. A small step towards that will be taken at the annual Xbox Games Showcase, which should reassure players that there are some interesting games looming on the horizon. We can expect new details about games like Avowed to emerge here, but the most interesting detail — is what will happen directly after the show: Microsoft will hold an additional event on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

At the show, the Xbox Games Showcase will be held at the Xbox Games Showcase.

PC Gaming Show: June 9

Summer Game

If you’re more into PC gaming, you’ll want to check out this year’s PC Gaming Show. The show will be celebrating its 10th anniversary, which could mean there are some big surprises in store for you. Details on what will be on display at the show are still scarce, but it’s usually filled with interesting genre games. You can watch it at 01:00 Moscow time on June 10 on PCGamer’s YouTube or Twitch channels.

The show will be broadcast on PCGamer’s YouTube or Twitch channels.

Ubisoft Forward: June 10

Summer Game

While many major publishers are likely to show off their games at Summer Game Fest, Ubisoft will once again do things its own way. On June 10, the publisher will host a Ubisoft Forward stream, where it’s sure to reveal details about several upcoming games. We expect Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin’s Creed Red to be the headliners this year, but you should always expect some surprises at Ubisoft’s shows.

At Ubisoft’s Game Fest, the publisher will be hosting a live stream of its upcoming games.

THQ Nordic Showcase: Aug. 2

Summer Game

While most publishers cram their shows into June, THQ Nordic is known for putting on its own show in August. That will be the case this year, too: the publisher will show off its games at 24:00 Moscow time on August 2. We already know a little bit about what exactly it will show. Titan Quest 2 and the upcoming Gothic remake have already been unveiled, but there’s more to come.

Nintendo Direct: June

Summer Game

June can’t be without a Nintendo Direct. The publisher will once again hold its own presentation this year to talk about some of the games coming to Switch in late 2024. It’s a big moment for Nintendo, as we currently only know about two first-person games coming out this year. Hopefully, we’ll finally get details on Metroid Prime 4. But there’s one thing we shouldn’t expect: the Nintendo Switch 2. The company has already confirmed that the mysterious console won’t be unveiled during this year’s event.
