Samsung, known for its rugged Galaxy xCover 7 smartphone, is currently working hard to develop a shockproof and waterproof tablet. Recently, images and key specifications of this anticipated device have surfaced online.

The photos clearly show that the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 will feature three physical buttons below the screen, and the back panel will have special “ribs”, making the tablet more resistant to bending. There will also be a single camera with a flash on the back.

According to insiders, the tablet will feature an 8-inch screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 tempered glass. The main camera will have a resolution of 13 MP, and the case will meet two standards: MIL-STD-810H and IP68. Thanks to them, the device will be able to withstand drops from a height of up to 1.2 meters and immersion in water to a depth of more than a meter.

The tablet will be powered by a Samsung Exynos 1380 processor and will have 6GB of RAM and — 64/128GB of internal storage. Battery capacity will be 5050 mAh, providing reliable battery life. Other specs will include support for the S Pen stylus, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, GPS, NFC and Bluetooth 5.1.

There’s no exact information about the tablet’s release date yet.
