MTS launched a tariff for calls from smart devices

The new MTS “Separate Number” tariff, designed for calls from smart devices, allows subscribers to connect a separate phone number to speakers and other devices, and use it to make outgoing calls. The first device to which the new tariff is available is Yandex Station.

The “Separate Number” tariff gives users the opportunity to connect a separate number to smart devices, such as Yandex Stations. This is especially convenient for family use: more than 50% of the service’s users make calls from the speakers as a family. The new tariff expands the possibilities by allowing users to make calls from a smart speaker without tying it to their main mobile number.

The “Separate Number” tariff will cost users 100 rubles, with a monthly fee of 149 rubles. The package includes 300 minutes for all outgoing calls, and if necessary, you can buy minutes in the “My MTS” application. The tariff is available in almost all regions of MTS presence.

The activation can be done on the MTS website, and for owners of Yandex Stations – also through the “Home with Alice” application. The number is activated online without the need to use a physical SIM card.

MTS and Yandex joint project

MTS was the first operator to launch the ability to make phone calls via Yandex Station. To use the service, you need to connect your main phone number to the column. The calling feature is available for free on all Yandex Stations with Alice, except for DUO Max and Street versions.

To connect calls, you need to select a speaker in the Home with Alice app, go to the “Calls and Messages” section, select “From speaker as from phone” and add up to 10 contacts to the app’s directory. Limiting the number of contacts helps you avoid unwanted calls and only receive calls from people you care about.

The call feature will also be coming to TV stations running YaOS and YaOS X in the future.
