According to the source, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will get a large main sensor with an aperture of f/1.6 and next-generation LOFIC technology that improves light perception and reduces glare. An effective aperture of around f/4.5 will enhance low-light shooting and make images sharper.
The main feature of the device will be a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens that offers high quality shooting at medium and long range with an effective aperture of around f/8.6. The lens will utilize Xiaomi’s proprietary optical system with improved focusing and flexibility of settings.
The smartphone will get a large flat display and a prominent round camera module, keeping the signature style of the series but updating the design.
It was previously reported that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will feature a 50MP main camera with «in-sensor zoom» technology and smooth focal length transition without loss of quality, a 50MP Samsung JN5 ultra-wide lens, a 50MP Samsung JN5 telephoto lens, and a 200MP Samsung HPE periscopic lens with 4×4 RMSC technology. The front camera is rumored to get a 50-Mp OmniVision OV50M sensor.
The device is expected to share a number of specs with the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max — including a 6.9-inch OLED display with 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, an ultrasonic under-screen fingerprint scanner and an improved vibration motor. The Ultra version, meanwhile, will feature a unique camera design and exclusive photo hardware.
