New Geely owners complain of engine failure and loss of control

The 2025 Geely cars have been found to have serious engine problems. Owners are reporting that engines are failing within the first hundred kilometers, and in some cases drivers are losing control while driving.
According to the Telegram channel “Base,” the issue is a factory defect that reportedly affects the Geely Cityray, Monjaro and Boyue Pro models.
What’s going on with the motors
Victoria T., a resident of Rostov-on-Don, said she bought a Geely Cityray via parallel import for 2.4 million rubles at the end of August. After five days of operation and 300 kilometers of mileage, the car began to twitch and emit white-blue smoke. Diagnostics revealed that the engine cylinders were filled with oil.
The cost of replacing the motor with delivery from China was estimated at 3350 dollars – about 265 thousand rubles. Geely customer service promised to send a request to the factory and reimburse the costs if the factory defect is confirmed. However, two official services refused to repair Victoria. Now she is negotiating directly with the manufacturer.
Massive problem
Sources said dozens of owners of Geely Monjaro and Boyue Pro 2025 model year Geely Monjaro and Boyue Pro have reported similar faults. Drivers have reported sudden engine malfunctions accompanied by jerking, loss of traction and smoke coming from under the hood.

Geely has not yet released an official comment or announced a recall campaign.
