«It’s like holding the future in your hands»

Cook showed off the Cosmic Orange iPhone 17 Pro and emphasized that the iPhone Air packs «Pro-level performance into a compact package». He said the company has deliberately created a situation where users will choose between the Air and Pro without finding a simple answer.

When asked by a host about whether the autonomy of the ultra-thin iPhone Air has suffered, Cook replied:

«The run time is great. You will love this battery. We designed the device from the inside out. It’s eSIM-only, so we were able to utilize the space where the physical SIM slot used to be and expanded the battery. It’s an incredible innovation».

Investing in American manufacturing

In the second part of the interview, Cook and Corning CEO Wendell Weeks discussed Apple’s investment in glass manufacturing in the United States. The Harrodsberg plant will become a specialized site for producing glass for the iPhone and Apple Watch.

Apple’s glass production facility in the U.S. will also be used to produce glass for the iPhone and Apple Watch.

The initiative comes as part of the American Manufacturing Program. Apple plans to spend $600 billion over four years to develop U.S. factories and infrastructure.
