Sony will create next-generation displays

Sony has unveiled its new RGB independent LED backlight display system that allows for separate control of red, green and blue light. This innovation significantly improves color accuracy and brightness, as each LED can be controlled independently, allowing different brightness levels to be combined for each color. Designed for large screens, the technology uses high-density LEDs and proprietary backlighting algorithms to deliver accurate color gradations.

Unlike conventional high-brightness TVs, which concentrate light on bright elements such as stars or the moon in night scenes to increase peak brightness, Sony’s approach adjusts brightness in harmony with color gradation. This ensures that even monochromatic scenes, such as dark blue skies or bright red fall foliage, are displayed with vivid, vibrant detail.
