Philips Urban LED 6000 Series outdoor LED screens unveiled

Philips Professional Display Solutions (PPDS) has unveiled a new range of outdoor LED screens — Philips Urban LED 6000 Series. The first screens in the series will be installed at FC Barcelona’s Spotify Camp Nou stadium, which is scheduled to be completely renovated by 2026.

Philips Urban LED 6000 Series have an impressive performance. The maximum brightness reaches 10,000 cd/sqm and the frame rate is 7,680 Hz. However, they can’t be compared to conventional monitors or TVs, as the performance requirements are completely different for outdoor panels that need to be clearly visible from 10-30 meters away.
The devices in this range are IP65 protected and can operate in a temperature range of -20 to 50°C. Consumption of the screens is low — only 280 watts per square meter.
