Opera has opened public access to the experimental AI browser Neon

Opera today announced the public launch of Opera Neon — an experimental browser for AI-active users «who want to utilize the latest AI technologies as they become available».

Before that, Neon had been in the closed «Founders» phase since Oct. 2, essentially being a closed beta. Now the open beta is starting, and all Windows and Mac users are welcome to join.

The developers describe Neon as «an agent-based browser». It uses AI agents to perform tasks and even write web apps, rather than just displaying pages. Users also get access to Gemini 3 Pro and GPT 5.1.

A subscription to Neon costs $19.90 per month. It’s cheaper than paying separate subscriptions to ChatGPT and Gemini, and you get access to both services at the same time.
