Audeze has unveiled the Maxwell 2 gaming headset

Audeze has officially unveiled the Maxwell 2 wireless gaming headset, a follow-up to the Maxwell model released in 2022. The new headset is aimed at demanding gamers and features ultra-thin, large-diameter planar drivers.

Audeze Maxwell 2 features 90mm planar drivers capable of reproducing high-resolution audio. The claimed frequency range is 10Hz to 50kHz, and harmonic distortion is less than 0.1% at 100dB. Voice chatting uses a detachable hypercardioid microphone with AI noise reduction to keep your voice clear even in noisy environments.

The headset supports Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connectivity using LC3, LC3plus, LDAC, AAC, and SBC codecs. Wired connectivity via USB-C and a 3.5mm audio jack is also available, allowing the Maxwell 2 to be used with virtually any audio source. The built-in rechargeable battery provides up to 80 hours of battery life. Fast charging allows you to get about 25% charge in just 20 minutes, and a full charge takes about two hours.

The PlayStation version of the Maxwell 2 is priced at $329 and supports Tempest 3D spatial sound when connected to Sony consoles. The Xbox version costs $349 and offers Dolby Atmos support when used with Microsoft consoles. Both versions are compatible with PCs and Macs, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch 2 consoles, as well as Android and iOS smartphones and tablets.
