Durabook U11 rugged Windows 11 tablet unveiled
By ForGeeks Durabook has unveiled a new U11 tablet specifically designed for extreme environments like construction sites and industrial zones. This Windows 11-powered gadget features a practical display, expansion slots, a quick-release battery, and SSD upgrade options.
Durabook’s new U11 tablet is designed for use in extreme work environments like construction sites and industrial environments.
The Durabook U11 tablet features an 11.6-inch display that can recognize finger touches even when wearing gloves or in the rain. The manufacturer also offers a variant with a brightness panel with up to 1000 cd/m².
There are five physical buttons on the right side of the display, two of which can be customized, while the other three are used to turn the tablet on and adjust the brightness. The tablet also features a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling. Additionally, you can choose between an infrared module with Windows Hello support or an 8MP autofocus sensor.
Durabook U11 can run Intel Core i7-1250U or Core i5-1230U processors, depending on the configuration. RAM can range from 8GB to 32GB and NVMe storage — from 256GB to 2TB. An optional SSD can be installed without having to open up the tablet’s case.

The tablet also has ExpressCard 54 and PCMCIA Type II connectors to which you can plug in add-ons like a smart card reader. The basic version offers Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and microSD and SIM slots. The Advanced version offers additional USB Type-A ports, two smart card readers, and Type-C and RS-232/422/485 connectors.
The device also features a POGO connector for connecting a keyboard, allowing it to turn into a ruggedized laptop. The tablet’s case is compliant with MIL-STD-810H, MIL-STD-461G, IP66, and ANSI/UL C1D2 standards. Battery life is impacted by a 4,800 mAh battery that provides up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge.
