Lenovo teases Legion Y700 Gen 5 gaming tablet with focus on power and portability

Lenovo has officially kicked off teasers for the next-generation Legion Y700 gaming tablet, confirming the Gen 5 model’s existence with a short promo video posted on Chinese social media. While full specs and pricing remain under wraps, it’s clear the company is doubling down on performance, compactness, and versatility.

The video highlights the key features that made the Legion Y700 series popular: a compact form factor, easy portability, two USB Type-C ports, and bypass charging support. This last feature allows the tablet to be powered directly from the outlet without taxing the battery, helping to keep the device cool – a crucial advantage for gamers. Judging by the teaser, all these functions will carry over to the fifth generation.

Lenovo also confirmed the presence of a single 50-megapixel main camera, just like the previous model. It’s still unclear whether the same sensor will be used or if an upgrade is in the works. According to unofficial leaks, the Legion Y700 Gen 5 is expected to pack a flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Elite chip – the same SoC powering premium Android phones like the OnePlus 15. This should mark a significant performance boost over earlier versions of the tablet.

Other rumored specs include an 8.8-inch display with roughly 3K resolution and refresh rates up to 165Hz, plus a battery around 9,000mAh. Lenovo hasn’t announced an official launch date yet, but the teaser clearly hints the full reveal is imminent. The company also confirmed two color options: black and white.
