Xiaomi 16 is ahead of the competition in terms of specs

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch several flagship devices at once, including a compact smartphone and a foldable model. One of the most talked about devices is the Xiaomi 16, and if the latest leaks are to be believed, it could outperform the competition in almost all key parameters.

Despite conflicting information hitting the web earlier, a reputable Digital Chat Station insider has clarified the details regarding the battery. Previously it was said to be a 6,800 mAh battery, but now it’s claimed that Xiaomi has managed to pack an even more capacious 7,000 mAh battery into a compact body.

  • Samsung Galaxy S25 has a 4,000 mAh battery;
  • OnePlus 13s – 6,260 mAh;

This makes the Xiaomi 16 the clear leader in terms of battery life among compact flagships.

But it’s not just about the battery. The Xiaomi 16 is rumored to be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, which Qualcomm won’t unveil until September. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 and OnePlus 13s are powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite, with Samsung using a slightly overclocked version.

Photography capabilities are impressive too, with the Xiaomi 16 expected to get a triple camera with three 50MP sensors, including a main 1/1.3-inch sensor and a periscope telephoto lens. The Galaxy S25 also has a triple camera but uses smaller sensors, and the OnePlus 13s has just two modules.

TheXiaomi 16 is an example of how launching a flagship in the second half of the year allows a manufacturer to outperform competitors introduced earlier. With a fresher chipset, a powerful battery and an advanced camera, the Xiaomi 16 has a good chance of becoming the best compact Android flagship of 2025.
