Latest Xiaomi 15 Ultra rumors

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra smartphone was announced in China last February and was first unveiled to the Western press at Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona that same month. The company has already released the base Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro models for the Chinese market — again, on the same schedule as the 14 and 14 Pro models last year. The Ultra lineup has always been focused on photography, and the 14 Ultra features not only a powerful sensor, but also an adjustable aperture and an impressive 5x optical zoom. The first leaks confirm that the new smartphone will also be aimed at photographers. A report published yesterday claims that the new model will feature 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, as well as three color options. The device has now been certified on China’s FCC list, and its photography kit has appeared on China’s 3C certification, which reveals additional details.

The documentation confirms support for a range of connectivity options, including 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G networks, as well as tri-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (BR, EDR, LE) and NFC. The device is also expected to come with Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15. Moreover, following the phone’s release, the 15 Ultra’s photo kit has also been certified under China’s 3C certification system. Last year’s model included a camera grip, 67mm filter adapter rings, a lens cap, a strap, and even a built-in 1,500mAh battery to charge the phone.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is rumored to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, possibly alongside the company’s proprietary Surge chip. The display is expected to be a 6.7-inch LTPO micro-curved OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The rear camera is rumored to be a four-lens system, potentially consisting of a 50-megapixel one-inch main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x zoom, and a 200-megapixel periscopic telephoto lens with macro capability and 4.3x zoom.

The device is reportedly powered by a 6,000mAh battery with support for 90W fast wired charging and 80W wireless charging. Other potential features include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor beneath the display, dual-satellite capability, and a choice of a plain leather, glass, or ceramic back panel.
