Google Pixel 8a is officially unveiled
By ForGeeks After a string of leaks, Google has finally revealed its new smartphone called the Pixel 8a. The new product is the most budget-friendly in the Pixel 8 series and has been given an updated design. The body is more rounded, the plastic back panel and aluminum frame have a smooth matte texture, and the front panel is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone is IP67 dust- and water-resistant and the manufacturer claims it’s the most rugged A-series phone to date.
The smartphone is now IP67-rated.
Google Pixel 8a has been equipped with a 6.1-inch OLED display with 1080 x 2400 pixel resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The brightness of the display can reach 1400 nits when playing HDR content with a maximum brightness of 2000 nits. Also on board the smartphone is a dual camera setup consisting of a 64 MP f1.89 sensor and an ultra-wide 13 MP f2.2 camera. On the front, there is a 13 MP f2.2 camera. All cameras are capable of shooting 4K video at 30 fps, while the rear cameras can also shoot 4K video at 60 fps.

In addition, you also get slow motion astrophotography, slow motion at 240fps, combined video stabilization, cinematic panning, 5x digital zoom, and optical image stabilization on the main wide-angle camera. The Pixel 8a is powered by Google’s Tensor G3 chipset with the Titan M2 security coprocessor. There’s 8GB of LPDDR5x memory, and you can choose between 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
The Pixel 8a’s 8GB of LPDDR5x memory is also available.
The phone packs a 4,492mAh battery, which Google claims offers more than 24 hours of battery life. It supports 18W wired fast charging and Qi wireless charging.
Other features include stereo speakers, in-display fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth 5.3 and USB 3.2 connectivity, NFC, and dual-SIM (nano + eSIM) support.
