Apple will use thin molded glass for the telephoto lens of the iPhone 16 Pro

Apple will switch to molded-glass lenses for 2024 Pro model telephoto cameras. Largan will exclusively supply the needs of next year’s telephoto lenses, according to the supply chain report.
Molded glass lenses are thinner and lighter than traditional ground glass lenses at the same magnification distance. That means the 120mm zoom lens of the 15 Pro Max model could be built into the smaller iPhone 16 Pro in 2024, putting it on par with the 16 Pro Max model.
