New Auto.ru service simplifies selling and buying a car

Auto.ru has simplified the registration of transactions between buyers and sellers of cars: now the sale and purchase agreement can be filled out automatically, pulling information directly from the ad or by car number. This solution significantly reduces the likelihood of errors and saves time for both parties.

Since April 24, 2025, an updated version of the sales contract form has been available on Auto.ru, which allows authorized users to upload car data from previously viewed or added to favorite ads. All key parameters – from make, model and year of manufacture to body color, mileage and price – are automatically filled in.

If the contract is executed through the account of the seller who owns the vehicle, the system will additionally upload such sensitive data as VIN number, details of the PTS and STS. This is designed to increase security and protect the personal information of vehicle owners.

Auto.ru representatives say that a significant share of errors in the execution of a vehicle registration agreement – more than 30% – is due to misprints, especially in identification numbers. The new tool makes it possible to minimize such inaccuracies and minimize the risk of incorrect execution of the transaction.

After autocomplete, users only need to enter the transaction amount, provide their passport details and print the contract in three copies. This allows for quick and hassle-free preparation of all documents, avoiding the need to redo them due to errors.

Besides the contract form itself, the service offers step-by-step checklists for each party. Buyers are told how to register the car and draw up all the necessary documents, while sellers are told how to deregister the car and return the balance of the insurance.

This approach makes the buying and selling process more transparent and convenient. All the tools – from autocomplete to detailed instructions – are available for free in the “Sale and Purchase Agreement” section on the website and in the mobile version of Auto.ru.

For users without an account, it is possible to use the car number or VIN for autocompletion – this allows even those who are drawing up a contract for the first time and are not yet registered in the system to use the function.
