Apple’s Android-like AirDrop for Windows is now publicly available

Google is expanding the availability of Nearby Share for Windows computers to a wider range of countries. We’ve learned that Apple’s Android equivalent of AirDrop for Windows is now available worldwide, and importantly, files are transferred encrypted.

Already publicly available, the feature allows Android users to share files with a computer or laptop wirelessly through a menu in their Android device. According to the company itself, Nearby Share for Windows PCs is now available in most countries around the world, including parts of Europe, Russia and many other countries.
