“2GIS” introduced artificial intelligence into its maps

Developers of the 2GIS mapping service have integrated artificial intelligence into their service. With the help of neural networks, photos of companies were automatically categorized, and brief descriptions of establishments created on the basis of user feedback were added.
The neural networks embedded in 2GIS analyzed photos of companies from the fields of catering, beauty, health and hospitality, and placed them in thematic photo albums on company pages. For example, for catering, the categories “Food and Drink”, “Interior”, “View from outside”, “Menu”, “Atmosphere” and others were defined. In the future, such albums will be available for companies in other industries as well.
The service now also offers photo search, by keyword, about an establishment. For example, if you type in the name of a dish, you can see photos of that dish from various cafes and restaurants.
The integration of the GigaChat chatbot has made it possible to add brief descriptions of the places whose information users are most interested in. A neural network analyzes reviews and collects answers to the most popular questions.

These innovations are already available in the mobile app and web version of the service. In addition, detailed road maps with markings and train schedules have recently been added to 2GIS maps.
