Lenovo unveiled the SS1101 SoC processor

While Xiaomi is just planning to unveil its new SoC for mobile devices, Lenovo has already quietly developed and released a similar solution.

The Yoga Pad Pro 14.5 hybrid tablet utilizes the new SS1101 SoC, which was created in-house by Lenovo. It’s known to include a 10-core processor with a 2+2+3+3+3 cluster configuration, but details on the types of cores have not been revealed. It also includes a Mali-G720 Immortalis GPU, but no information on the number of cores is available.

There is no data yet on the performance of this platform. It is probably not the most powerful, but it is not among the basic solutions either. It’s reported that the SoC is likely manufactured using a 5nm process, which isn’t the most advanced, but does keep manufacturing costs down.
