According to press reports earlier this year, Ubisoft is developing Far Cry 7 and a standalone Far Cry multiplayer game. It is claimed that Far Cry 7 is being built on the Snowdrop engine, rather than the Dunia engine used for recent installments in the series. The multiplayer is claimed to be a shooter game set in the Alaskan wilderness.
The multiplayer is said to be a shooter set in the Alaskan desert.
The release of both games is tentatively scheduled for fall 2025. Far Cry 6, which came out in 2021, included an online cooperative campaign but no competitive multiplayer component.
