Starfield has gone gold, and pre-loads will start tomorrow on Xbox

Bethesda has announced that the game Starfield has gone gold ahead of its release next month. This means that the game’s core development is complete and it’s ready to move into the production stage.

Bethesda also confirmed that players will be able to download the game on Xbox Series X/S from August 17, and on Steam — from August 30. The title was originally scheduled for release last November, but in May 2022 the game was delayed until the first half of 2023. In March this year, Bethesda announced another delay, and Starfield is now scheduled for release on September 6, 2023.

There are several editions of Starfield available for pre-order. The standard $70 version, which includes the base game, will also be available via Xbox Game Pass for consoles and PC. The $300 Digital Premium Edition and Constellation Edition will include the game’s first story-based expansion, Shattered Space, as well as up to five days of early access starting Sept. 1.
