Sega is thinking about a sequel DLC for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds

Sonic series producer Takashi Iizuka has said that the team is willing to release new additions for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds longer than planned – if players show interest and actively leave feedback. The game has already received an impressive roster of characters, but Iizuka says the developers are open to ideas from the community – from new characters to balance changes. In an interview with Polygon at the Brasil Game Show, Iizuka said that the game’s success has inspired the team to develop the project further:”People really like the game, and that gives us the confidence to create more content. We have one year of DLC planned, but we may do a second, third – it all depends on player interest. Tell us what you want! It’s possible because the game is online: we can add new gadgets, change the balance, and much more.” “It’s possible because the game is online: we can add new gadgets, change the balance, and much more. So the fate of future updates depends directly on fan engagement and activity within the community. Simultaneously, Sega has announced the next free content for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. On October 22, 2025, the Joker from the Persona series will appear in the game, and with him, a franchise themed festival.
