The Resident Evil 4 remake has reached five million sales, publisher Capcom has announced. Released on March 24 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, the Resident Evil 4 remake quickly hit the sales mark. By comparison, the last game in the series, 2021’s Resident Evil Village, took nearly six months to hit five million copies.

The last Resident Evil game to reach the five million sales mark faster than this year’s remake was Resident Evil 5. Released in March 2009, it reached 4.97 million sales by the end of the following month and passed the five million mark in three months. The Resident Evil 4 remake sold three million copies in its first two days and four million units in its first two weeks, Capcom said earlier.

It’s confirmed that the company also plans to release as DLC content for the original game «Separate Ways». This content, which was not included in the original GameCube release of the game but was later included in other versions of the game, features Ada Wong and offers a new perspective on the events of Resident Evil 4. After the remake’s release, datamining experts claimed that references to «The Another Order» (the Japanese title Separate Ways) were found in the game’s files.
