Star Wars: Dark Forces remaster will be released in February

The Star Wars: Dark Forces remaster by developers Nightdive has been given a release date of February 28, 2024. The remaster, announced earlier this year for consoles and PC, will support resolutions up to 4K and 120fps depending on platform.

Nightdive says the game will feature improved 3D rendering, support for modern gamepads, trophies and achievements, etc. Star Wars: Dark Forces was released on PC in 1995 and is considered one of the best first-person shooters of the era. In the game, users control mercenary Kyle Katarn, hired by the Rebel Alliance, who performs a series of missions to help them fight the Empire.

The game’s gamepad support is supported by a number of achievements.

The game was praised at the time for its action, as well as for introducing a number of gameplay elements that were rare for FPS games at the time, including the ability to dodge, jump, swim, and look around.
